The celebrations for the christening ceremony of Emerald Kaia, the third ocean-going unit of the luxury brand Emerald Cruises, were held in Venice, against the backdrop of the San Basilio quay. The event, live-streamed on YouTube in collaboration with a well-known travel content creator, featured the traditional breaking of the bottle on the bow by the top management of the Scenic Group, of which Emerald is a part. The ceremony was attended by group founder Glen Moroney, the Venice port authorities, and two long-serving company employees chosen as the ship’s godfather and godmother, the vessel having a capacity of just 128 passengers.

The new flagship debuted in April with an inaugural voyage from Limassol, Cyprus, after completing its transit of the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Currently engaged in a series of summer itineraries in the Mediterranean and Adriatic, Emerald Kaia will retrace the Suez Canal in autumn to reposition to the Seychelles. From December 2026 to March 2027, the yacht will operate a winter program focused on the Indian Ocean and the coasts of East Africa.
