MSC Musica celebrates 20 years of service: The biggest restyling of its career is coming.

MSC Musica recently reached the milestone of twenty years of operation for MSC Cruises, two decades after its delivery on June 19, 2006, at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire. The first of a series of four ships, the 2,550-passenger and 92,400-gross-ton unit was christened in Venice on June 29, 2006, with exceptional godmother Sophia Loren.

To celebrate the anniversary, the ship is preparing for the largest modernization in its history. Soon, MSC Musica will enter Malta’s shipyards for approximately two months of dry dock, as part of a modernization project that will gradually involve the entire class. The restyling will see the creation of the exclusive MSC Yacht Club (the “ship within a ship” concept), the introduction of new themed restaurants, and a profound renovation of the onboard public and entertainment areas.

Once the work in Malta is completed, the ship will undertake a repositioning cruise to South America to debut its new look during the 2026-27 winter season in Brazil. As part of the group’s five-ship plan deployed in the region, MSC Musica will offer three- to seven-night itineraries with departures from Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Paranaguá, and Itajaí, combining the charm of its newly renovated environments with the most evocative destinations on the Brazilian coast.
