Fincantieri: Technical launch for Oceania Sonata celebrated in Marghera

admin il 27 August 2026

Fincantieri and Oceania Cruises celebrated the float out of Oceania Sonata, a new luxury flagship scheduled for official delivery in 2027, at the Marghera shipyard. The ceremony was attended by Paolo Novarino, Senior Director and Project Owner of Oceania Cruises, and Marco Lunardi, director of the Marghera shipyard. With a capacity of 1,390 passengers, the unit will offer extensive public spaces and exclusive environments designed for a top-tier cruising experience.

Oceania Sonata represents the first unit belonging to the new Sonata class, a new-generation evolution that builds upon the previous and acclaimed Allura class (whose sister ships, Oceania Vista and Oceania Allura, were built by Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente and delivered in 2023 and 2025 respectively). The industrial program for the new class foresees the construction of four more units: the second ship, Oceania Arietta, will enter service in 2029, while the subsequent three deliveries are scheduled for 2032, 2035, and 2037.
