An investment by Royal Caribbean of 116 million dollars for its restyling under the Royal Amplified program: the renewed Freedom of the Seas will then return to the southern Caribbean in spring 2020.
Starting from 8 March, the ship will redefine the concept of island hopping by offering 7-night cruises in the southern Caribbean from San Juan to Puerto Rico toward destinations of great charm, such as: Oranjestad – Aruba; Willemstad – Curaçao; Castries – Saint Lucia; Bridgetown – Barbados; Saint Johns – Antigua; and Kralendijk – Bonaire.
Aboard Freedom of the Seas, the concept of fun will be further expanded. In addition to the already popular attractions such as the FlowRider surf simulator, mini golf and climbing wall, guests try The Perfect Storm, the two heart-pounding water slides Cyclone and Typhoon. Or choose the totally renewed Caribbean-style pool area, with loungers, hammocks, shaded seating under the casitas and the Splashaway Bay water park for the little ones. For adults only, there is the Lime & Coconut, an exclusive poolside bar on three levels with live music, a wide range of cocktails and a panoramic terrace.
Among the many activities onboard, the laser tag: Clash for the Crystal City. On the ship a new area for teenagers, with games, music, an outdoor deck only for them and the award-winning Adventure Ocean, the kids’ area, with workshops and games. For children from 3 to 5 years, there are two areas available as well, AO Babies and AO Junior, with assistance from specialized staff.

News also on the cuisine front, with club and flavors ranging from Italian to Mexican to Asian. For those who want to enjoy contemporary Italian dishes and handmade pizza, there is Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen. Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, a restaurant with teppanyaki tables and sushi bar. Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade is ideal for those who love sports and want to follow their team or sporting events, with over 80 TV screens, but also video games. El Loco Fresh is located poolside and offers Mexican dishes, such as tacos and burritos, quesadilla, with a wide variety of sauces.
