The shipping companies keep to expand their itineraries with new destinations; Costa Cruises announces the arrival of another ship in South America for the winter 2020/2021: Costa Luminosa.
From November 2020 to April 2021, the Italian-flagged company will bring the number of ships in the South American area to three: indeed, Costa Luminosa will join the Costa Fascinosa and the Costa Pacifica.
The positioning of Fascinosa and Pacifica was announced earlier and the news of the third unit arrived in September. “The arrival of Costa Luminosa for the 2020/2021 season reflects Costa Crociere’s desire to strategically invest in the South American: a market with great potential of growth,” said Dario Rustico, Costa Crociere general manager for Central and South America. For this reason, we want to consolidate and gradually increase our presence in this region”.
The three ships in the fleet – Costa Luminosa, Costa Pacifica and Costa Fascinosa – will offer several trips in South America: Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, which will be on sale starting November 2019.
Particularly, Costa Fascinosa, which will leave from Savona for South America in mid-November 2020, will have its base in Santos. The cruise will be directed to the north of Brazil, visiting destinations such as Buzios, Salvador, Ilheus and Ilha Grande.
The itineraries of Costa Pacifica, which will depart from Genoa for its transatlantic crossing on 13 November 2020, will focus instead on Argentina, Uruguay and the southern part of Brazil. Scheduled stops in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Ilhabela, Buzios, Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay).
Finally, Costa Luminosa will depart from Santos, with seven-night itineraries, headed for Itajai (Brazil), Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Its arriving in South America will scheduled with a cruise from Venice to Santos which will set sail on 8 November 2020.
