Costa Cruises, four charter from Genoa for the “fly&cruise”

Four Costa Cruises charter flights will depart from Genoa in 2020, with the fly & cruise formula. The first one left on Saturday 11 January for the Caribbean, precisely in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. The flight – operated with Alitalia’s Airbus A330-200 with 249 seats – was dedicated to Costa Favolosa passengers, who boarded the ship for an 8-day cruise. The itinerary covered the following stages: Guadeloupe (Antilles), La Romana (Dominican Rep.), Catalina Island (Dominican Rep.), St. Maarten (Antilles), Antigua (Antilles), Guadeloupe (Antilles).

And it was the first of four charter flights of 2020 dedicated to Costa Crociere cruise passengers departing from Genoa. The president of the airport of the Ligurian capital Paolo Odone expressed his satisfaction: “We are happy that Costa Crociere also this year has decided to use our airport to let its cruise passengers leave for exotic and beautiful destinations. The fly & cruise formula joins the scheduled flights to our airport that allow numerous cruise passengers from all over Europe to reach Liguria and to board the cruise ships in Savona and Genoa “.

The second charter departs on Friday 7 February, this time for Abu Dhabi, for Costa Diadema passengers who will take an 8-day cruise between the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar.

Further on it will touch Northern Europe: on June 19, a charter flight to Warnemünde, reserved for Costa Fascinosa guests for the 8-day cruise in the Norwegian fjords (with stops in Copenhagen, Kristiansand, Bergen, Stavanger and Gothenburg, to land in Warnemünde); finally, on 4th July there will be a flight to Stockholm for Costa Magica passengers for an 8-day cruise to the Baltic cities (Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, and Tallinn, with landing in Stockholm).

«The fly & cruise formula is one of the strengths of our offer, and thanks to the collaboration with airlines and airports we are able to offer our guests an ever wider range of opportunities – says Mario Alovisi, vice president of revenue management, itinerary & transportation by Costa Crociere – Genova represents one of the best examples of this collaboration, which we will continue to strengthen. In addition to charters, we also use scheduled flights, favouring the opening of new connections available for everyone, as in the case of the Genoa-Vienna flight “.
