Royal Caribbean takes delivery of Legend of the Seas, Mediterranean debut in July

Royal Caribbean has officially taken delivery of the new Legend of the Seas, the third unit of the revolutionary Icon Class, designed to offer the ultimate family vacation experience. Built in Finland at the Meyer Turku shipyards, after almost two years of work, and powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), Legend of the Seas will make its official debut in July in the Mediterranean, with 7-night cruises from Barcelona and Civitavecchia, before repositioning in November to Florida to set sail for the Caribbean and the private island Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Life on board will be organized into eight themed neighborhoods, designed to meet the needs of every single passenger. Among the highlights is the richest culinary offering ever seen at sea with as many as 28 dining options, including a venue that simulates a train journey along the Silk Road and the Hollywoodland restaurant, inspired by old Hollywood. Entertainment will also be sensational, with ice shows, aquatic acrobatics, and major theatrical productions such as the musical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and the show America’s Got Talent LIVE.

For lovers of relaxation and adrenaline, there will be plenty to choose from: the ship features no fewer than seven pools (including the largest ever built on a ship and a swim-up bar), an entire water park, and the Crown’s Edge attraction, a suspended walkway 45 meters above the void. For families seeking maximum comfort, the ship offers exclusive accommodations such as the Ultimate Family Townhouse, a true three-story “home” even equipped with a private indoor slide.
