For the first time ever, Rotterdam of Holland America Line will be one of the protagonists of the Mediterranean autumn of 2027, with a series of departures that will accompany guests of the fleet’s flagship to discover some of the most fascinating locations in the Mediterranean. In total there will be five itineraries from 10 to 11 days covering both the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, with the last departure scheduled for December 8 with a 14-day itinerary from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale.

Among the highlights of the program are destinations such as Lisbon, Rhodes, Kotor and Alexandria, Egypt with several overnights that will allow guests to visit historical points of interest such as Pompeii from Naples and Ephesus from Kusadasi. Some itineraries will also include scenic sailings through the Strait of Messina and in front of Stromboli. Furthermore, for those who desire a longer vacation, the various cruises can be combined to create a single grand journey to discover the Mediterranean.

This debut is part of a larger plan by the company, which for the winter 2027-2028 will make available four ships including Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam, Oosterdam and Zuiderdam on over 20 different itineraries. The choice to increase Mediterranean travel during this specific time of year responds to a strong demand from passengers who enjoy visiting Europe and the Mediterranean outside of the classic summer months.
