Disney Cruise Line unveils new class of ships arriving from 2029

Disney Cruise Line showed at D23 the first details and graphic renderings of its new class of ships, ordered from the German shipyards Meyer Werft with deliveries expected between 2029 and 2030. The initial series will comprise three 105,000-ton units with a capacity of approximately 3,000 passengers. Slightly smaller than the brand’s latest units, the new ships will maintain the iconic Disney Cruise Line style with a black and gold hull and double funnels, introducing an unprecedented and spectacular three-deck-high glass wall in the ship’s central part.

The project strongly focuses on sustainability and energy efficiency: the new class will indeed feature an optimized hull and a cutting-edge lightweight structure designed to reduce consumption and emissions. While awaiting the discovery of onboard attractions, the fleet expansion plan will first see the debut of Disney Believe at the end of 2027 (the fourth unit of the 140,000-ton Wish-Class) and its entry into the Japanese market in early 2029 with a fifth sister ship managed in collaboration with Oriental Land Company.
