The Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyards in Saint Nazaire have completed the installation of the monumental dragon-shaped sculpture aboard MSC World Asia, the new flagship of the MSC Cruises fleet, arriving in December 2027. Positioned 10 meters high along the outdoor World Promenade, the artwork measures 12 meters in length by 3.5 meters in width and is set to become one of the most iconic visual symbols of the ship.

Designed by Balich Wonder Studio, a prominent international creative studio led by Marco Balich, the sculpture is made of stainless steel with a pearly white finish and integrates nearly 700 mirrors, 400 meters of light strips, and over 3,000 LED light points. As evening falls, the dynamic lighting system comes to life, creating the illusion of a dragon in flight above the seaside promenade, enriching the oriental-inspired design that characterizes the entire ship.

The third unit of the innovative World Class series, MSC World Asia will officially debut in the Mediterranean on December 4, 2026. The flagship will offer seven-night itineraries touching some of the main destinations in the basin, with scheduled calls in Genoa, Civitavecchia, Messina, Barcelona, Marseille, and Valletta.
