MSC Meraviglia set to debut in South America in winter 2027/28

MSC Cruises has announced that MSC Meraviglia will make its debut in South America during the 2027-2028 winter season, offering itineraries between Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. The news was revealed by Adrian Ursilli, MSC country manager in Brazil, during the 8th CLIA Brazil Forum in Brasilia. The 4,500-passenger ship will take over the routes operated by MSC Seaview, based in the strategic port of Santos, increasing the company’s overall capacity in the region thanks to the deployment of a larger and more modern ship.

The 2027-2028 program will see a total of five ships in the region, with MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina, MSC Splendida, and MSC Musica, sailing from eight main ports including Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Buenos Aires. The operation will mark the first time MSC simultaneously deploys two Meraviglia-class units in South America, and for the second consecutive year, all ships in the area will feature the MSC Yacht Club area. This repositioning stems from a broader fleet reorganization following the cancellation of the Middle East season, a move that saw the new MSC World Asia take the place initially planned for Meraviglia in the Southern Caribbean.
