Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ private island in the Bahamas, is preparing for a significant upgrade and will welcome two ships simultaneously for the first time starting November 16, 2027. This milestone will be made possible by ongoing expansion work, which includes the construction of a second berthing pier along with new recreational facilities, unprecedented dining options, enhanced relaxation areas, and beach concepts dedicated to both families and adults. The first double docking will simultaneously feature MSC Seaside and MSC Grandiosa, operating four-night cruises from Miami and Port Canaveral.

The operation will kick off a series of 15 double calls scheduled by the end of 2027, involving both MSC Cruises branded units and ships from the luxury brand Explora Journeys. Among these, the date of December 19, 2027, stands out, when the marine reserve will simultaneously host two of the fleet’s largest units, the twin ships MSC World America and MSC World Atlantic. With their 205,700 gross tons each, the two flagships will bring over 11,000 passengers and nearly 4,500 crew members to the island in a single day.

The island’s expansion will continue further in 2028 with the integration of Sandy Cay, an adjacent island intended to complete Ocean Cay’s offering. Developed as an exclusive and high-end extension oriented towards the luxury segment, the new destination will offer reserved spaces and tailored experiences, enriching travelers’ experiences in the region.
