One month until the debut of MSC World Asia: the novelties aboard the new MSC Cruises flagship

admin il 6 November 2026

The port of Genova is preparing to welcome MSC World Asia, the new protagonist of the MSC Crociere fleet, which will set sail on its maiden voyage on December 6, 2026. The third unit of the innovative World Class, the ship stands out for an identity inspired by Eastern cultures, landscapes, and traditions, visible in its design details and its seven distinctive themed districts. As highlighted by Leonardo Massa, Vice President Southern Europe of the Cruise Division of the MSC Group, the positioning of the flagship confirms the centrality of the Mediterranean in the company’s growth strategy, enhancing its ports throughout all twelve months of the year with weekly itineraries between Barcellona, Marsiglia, Genova, Civitavecchia, Messina, La Valletta and, from summer 2027, Napoli as well, prior to repositioning to the Caribbean in winter 2027/2028.

On board, culinary excellence meets major international collaborations across more than forty bars, lounges, and restaurants. The largest Venchi area ever seen on a ship makes its debut on board: 300 square meters integrating a chocolate shop, café, and artisan gelato parlour with twenty flavors, including the exclusive Crunchy Waves creations. MSC World Asia also marks Eataly’s European debut at sea, featuring oceanfront terraces, live show cooking, and the immersive Chef’s Table experience. Alongside these novelties are the new culinary hub dedicated to Pan-Asian street food, themed venues such as the Clubhouse and Soda Bar and The Terraces Bar & Lounge, and the unmissable Masters of the Sea pub, where the microbrewery created with Baladin will produce three exclusive beers using desalinated seawater, including the brand-new Oceanic Asian Blanche.

Entertainment and outdoor activities achieve new engineering records, starting with The Spiral @ Tree of Life, the longest stainless-steel dry slide at sea in the world, which spans an impressive twelve decks over its 81.3-meter length, evoking the atmosphere of Singapore’s gardens. For families, the outdoor area The Harbour has been completely redesigned with two-level adventure trails, an upgraded water park, and Cliffhanger, the four-seat swing making its European debut by lifting guests 50 meters above the sea. Relaxation takes center stage around new aquatic settings such as the large Manila Bay Pool and the indoor Coral Cove Pool, enhanced by a monumental water-drop sculpture by artist Elisabetta Milan, while the evening schedules will feature six major theatrical shows, including four brand-new productions.

On the high-end hospitality front, the flagship redefines luxury standards by introducing the most extensive MSC Yacht Club offering ever created by the company. The exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept will provide 144 suites spread across seven distinct categories, ensuring 24-hour butler service, a private concierge, a panoramic sun deck, and a dedicated lounge. Among the top accommodations, the brand-new Royal Duplex Suite stands out—a two-level layout designed to guarantee maximum privacy, bespoke comfort, and generous living spaces for large families and small groups seeking the utmost exclusivity while sailing.
