Explora III, Explora Journeys’ new unit delivered by Fincantieri in July 2026, arrived in North America at the end of September, marking its official debut in the region. The third ship of the luxury brand, part of the MSC group, the 922-passenger vessel crossed the Atlantic after spending its first months of summer service between the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

The first itinerary in the region spanned 11 nights from Reykjavik to Quebec City, calling at fascinating ports including Corner Brook, Saguenay, Havre Saint Pierre, and Newport. This route was also offered as part of the broader “Grand Journey,” a 30-night voyage between Hamburg and New York that covered 20 destinations in six different countries.

At the end of the autumn season in the Northeast, Explora III will head south, repositioning to the Caribbean, where it is expected in PortMiami on October 25, 2026. The winter season, extending until April 2027, will see the ship engaged in a rich program of Caribbean itineraries with departures distributed between Florida, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Bridgetown, Barbados. Following its Caribbean period, the unit will transfer to the west coast to inaugurate the brand’s first Alaska cruise program, active between May and September 2027 with itineraries from Vancouver and Seward. The brand’s expansion will continue at a steady pace in the coming years: the fleet will see the addition of three more ships by 2028, starting with the arrival of Explora IV scheduled for April 2027.
