The largest ship in MSC Cruises fleet is arriving! It weighs 181,000 gross tonnage and it is 323 meters long with 2,017 cabins which is capable of accommodating 6,334 passengers and 1,413 crews. MSC Grandiosa, the latest flagship of the fleet, will officially join the MSC Cruises family in November 2019.
After the baptism in Hamburg, the ship will spend the winter 2019/2020 in the Mediterranean to discover its most beautiful cities, with an itinerary of 8 days and 7 nights.
Genoa will be its homeport, from which to start navigating to Civitavecchia, where you will have the chance to visit Rome and some of its most fascinating monuments with organized tours of the city. The next stop, the third day, is Palermo: here you can dive into the cultural and artistic history of the Sicilian capital, and discover its exquisite culinary tradition on the spot. Palermo is also a starting point for excursions to two other cities that you cannot miss: Monreale, with its famous Duomo, and the architecture of Cefalù. Leaving Sicily, MSC Grandiosa will sail to another island, Malta, landing in the port of its capital Valletta.
At the stop on the island, the itinerary follows a day of sailing to Spain, with a stop in Barcelona, a unique city of its kind and famous throughout the world for style, beauty and energy. From Catalonia we start again with the last stop on the winter itinerary of the flagship of MSC, the charming French city of Marseille, and then finally return to Italian waters in Genoa.
MSC Grandiosa will be the first of the two ships in the Meraviglia Plus class, which provides for an offer of a greater number of public areas, in addition to numerous other new features. On board the ship, it will be possible to watch two new shows created specifically for the ship by the Cirque du Soleil at Sea staged in a high-tech lounge.
It is also the second smart ship of the MSC fleet with the first virtual personal assistant in the cruise sector, Zoe: present in all the cabins, it is programmed to answer over 800 questions in 7 different languages, with the aim of assisting the guests on board the ship and offer them an innovative travel experience.
